Come and try something different. Marquetry is the craft and art of making pictures and decorative designs out of wood veneer. Most of us are not very artistic, we just like wood. Come and have a taster with no obligation.

The club as started in 1972 by some Bexley residents and a small band of enthusiasts who responded to an advert in a local paper. We are currently about 20 members strong. Some have been with us for many years and some have returned after a long absence. Room is always found for newcomers who can rely on finding expert tuition and help in getting started, in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The club will supply the tools and materials to get you started and have a go. We meet weekly at Hurst Community Centre in the Small Hall. The caretaker in the office by the entrance will direct you to us.

The group enjoy practical evenings, occasional demonstrations, talks and few social events during the year. Exhibitions are another feature, showing our efforts to others at various venues when ever possible
